2014 Congressional High School Art Competition

For the past 3 years the Topeka West photography program has entered pieces to the Congressional High School Art Competition that is sponsored by Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins.  And for the past 3 years Topeka West has consistently placed in the top four places.  In fact, last year Jared Scrinopskie won first place and his image is currently hanging in Washington, D.C.!

I am proud to announce that the 2014 Congressional High School Art Competition results are in and Jared Scrinopskie has once again placed in the top four!!  The judging was very close with just a couple of points separating the top two spots and Jared was awarded Second Place!

I am currently communicating with both Jared and Congresswoman Jenkins' office to plan a time that the congresswoman can visit Topeka West and present Jared with his award.

Congratulations, Jared.....and a huge thank you to all the other students whose amazing pieces were entered to the competition!!
